Congregational Church of Prattsburg records, 1804-1876.

A complete series of standing committee session meeting minutes to 1872 in 5 volumes, annual meeting minutes (1856-1877) and a register of baptisms and members (1804-1877). Standing committee (session after 1868) minutes contain particularly detailed disciplinary cases, a high number of resolutions on social issues and accounts of numerous revivals.

Religious services were conducted regularly in Prattsburg by the Reverend John Niles, first in a barn owned by Jared Pratt, and after 1806 in a log meeting house. A church was officially organized by the Reverend Timothy Field of Canandaigua on June 26, 1804. In 1806-1807 a large number of settlers from Connecticut, mostly Congregationalists, joined the church, necessitating an enlargement of the meeting house in 1808.
